City of Verndale

RECYCLING NOW IS AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS

The City of Verndale now has a recycling bin available to all residents. The recycling bin is located On Butler Street, between 1st Ave and 2nd Ave.

Acceptable recycling materials are - paper, cardboard, plastic containers, tin, aluminum, glass.

Unacceptable materials are - electronic devices, appliances, household garbage.

 PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THIS  SERVICE

HOME IMPROVEMENT GRANTS


Verndale Residents can receive grants for home improvements. 

 

The Cities of Verndale and Aldrich has received a $449,200 grant for housing rehabilitation from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. Funding for 16 homes in Verndale and 4 homes in Aldrich is available.  The selection of homes is determined by income and also by order of received applications.

 A similar program was completed in 2008 where 26 homes in Verndale were rehabilitated.

 

 

 

HOUSE FOR SALE

The Verndale Economic Development Authority along with the Verndale High School Construction Trades Class has completed building a home and double garage.

The home is 28' x 48' with an attached garage of 26' x 28'. 

 The house has been placed on a lot within city limits. The location of the home is 532 Farwell Street S.

 

There are two bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs. The basement floor has pex piping for hot water heat. This home has city water and sewer services.

The City will entertain bids to purchase the home.

Sewer & Water Project

The City Council has chosen to postpone work on the sewer project for this year. The project may begin in the spring of 2011.

The sewer project has been modified to include fewer portions.
